Pastor's Welcome
The Lord Jesus said that all of the instruction and commands of the Old Testament could be summarized by two Great Commands: to love the Lord, God with all of our heart, soul and mind; and to love others like we love ourselves.
When we love other people like we love ourselves we will be moved to meet their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. The Bible says that all who do not believe in Jesus are storing up the wrath of God against them (Romans 2:5). When we love people like we love ourselves, we want to see them delivered from the wrath of God. This love for others compels us to tell them that they may be saved from the wrath of God through faith in Jesus Christ.
When we love God with all of our heart, we will desire to do all that we do for the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31). When we live our lives for the glory of God, all of our decisions are made with that goal in mind. How we use the time, talents, and treasures that God gives to us will be determined by what brings the most glory to God.
It is my prayer that you will be encouraged to a greater level of love for God and others each time you are at Logan Elm Baptist Church. Perhaps God will even lead you to join us in fulfilling the Great Commands and the Great Commission for the glory of our Great God.
In Sacred Service,
Pastor Jeff
